Just 12 km from Arezzo, Baciano lies in the flat area north of the Municipality of Capolona at the gates of the Casentinese Valley. With a typical agricultural settlement, Baciano, of very ancient origins, stands on the right bank of the Arno river which flows about a hundred meters from the building and is set in the agricultural texture that is still generous and fertile today.

The exodus of the population from the countryside, which characterized the end of the fifties until the mid-seventies, towards the cities and urban centers linked to the nascent local industry, has left intact the Borgo di Baciano which for fifty years has not suffered renovations and restorations. Today, with the new property, some of the existing houses have been recovered, deliberately choosing to leave the original patina, with detached plasters and exposed walls on the external elements, while inside the rooms spaces have been created in keeping with modern living needs, but always in the respect for the typical elements of the houses in the area. Those who stay in Baciano, even for very short periods, find themselves immersed in an atmosphere of other times, those of the Tuscan peasant culture of the early twentieth century.

The ancient farm of Baciano it’s a family company that has chosen to under take this type of business to see the rebirth of these historic buildings, remaining to the original structure. With the undeniable pleasure of hosting people like us that appreciate these items.

A village of Roman origin located along the Via Major, the toponym appears to be of religious origin (pre-Christian cult of Bacchus).
It is mentioned as early medieval rural settlement as early as 1109. In 1210 the Procurator of Camaldoli rents the properties located in Baciano to the brothers Jacopo and Giovanni. In 1845 it was detached from Subbiano and united in the Community of Capolona. Among the various buildings there is the Church of Saints Cristoforo and Jacopo, of modest dimensions in Gothic style, with a quadrangular apse and loopholes. It is present in the Tenths of 1278 as dependent on the Parish of San Martino Sopr’Arno. Today it is annexed to the Pleban Church of Subbiano. Another building emergency of Baciano is the Manor Villa dating back to the 19th century, with renovations in the early years of the twentieth century.
